This site is here to inform and educate learners of all ages about the organelles of cells.
To start off with this site, we are going to look at the more commonly known organelles.

Cell Membrane

The Cell Membrane is a layer in all cells. It provides support and protection for its cell. It controls what is allowed inside and outside the cell, it also maintains homeostasis for that cell. The cell membrane acts like a city's borders, what tries to come in and what tries to leave. Made of a lipid bi-layer and contains proteins within it.
Cell Wall

The cell wall is the stronger layer outside the cell membrane. It acts as support and protection for the cell. it allows H2O, CO2, and O2 to pass through its borders for the benefit of the cell. The cell wall acts like the walls of a city, keeping out any possible threats to that which resides inside. The cell wall is made up of cellulose.
Nucleus
![Picture](/uploads/3/9/9/8/39984805/320687.jpg?319)
The nucleus of a cell acts like its brain. It controls how the cell moves, eats, and reproduces. It is in the middle of the cell, surrounded by cytoplasm. If the nucleus were to be closer to the borders of the cell, the entire cell would be at risk of dying. Is the largest organelle in the cell and is round-shaped.
Nucleolus

The nucleolus resides inside the nucleus itself and creates ribosome sub-units from proteins. It later shoots those sub-units out of the nucleus so that the can form full, complete ribosomes. It is also where DNA and RNA is taken in and copied.

Ribosomes

Ribosomes are the builders of cells. They are the organelles that produce the proteins needed for the cell to be able the function properly. Made up of two ribosome sub-units, one large and one small.
